Eden Original Dry Dog Food

Eden

Eden is world class. On their website they state in big letters “Supporting Animal Health Through Nutrition”, and they do just that.

Most of the foods I review fall into the 1 or 2 star categories because they fall far short of supporting the nutritional needs of our pets, so it is a pleasure to review this one.

Most kibbles are cooked at high temperature into rock hard nuggets, and no matter what the ingredients are this means the nutrients are diminished. This food is steam cooked at 90 degrees Celsius which means the final product will be much richer in nutrients than regular kibbles. If that’s not excellent enough, the ingredients are excellent too.

The product is 80% meat. Most products are 80% not meat (and that’s being kind). We have a combination of chicken, more chicken (dried), salmon, herring, duck, white fish, as well as chicken liver as a nice inclusion. This food reads as gourmet!

There’s no trickery either. The 41% protein is testament to the amount of meat and fish in the food. It’s actually one of the highest protein percentages I’ve seen in any pet food worldwide, and this is exactly what dogs need to sustain impeccable health. The fat content of 18% is not to be sniffed at either, and a food high in protein and fat ensures the food is low in carbs. Fantastic.

The remaining ingredients are all well considered and put the health of your pet before profit. Vitamins and minerals are catered for from a range of fruits, veggies, and herbs. Glucosamine and Chondroitin are wonderful to see to support joint health, to deter arthritis, or aid the discomfort of dogs who already suffer joint issues.

What else do you need to know? Start feeding this today, your dog will thank you for it.
